Amber Andrade

Email: amberandrade1@gmail.com

Hi there!  My name is Mrs. Andrade. I am thrilled to embark on this new adventure God has set before us.  As we begin a new school year, I am looking forward to knowing each student and creating wonderful memories. I’d like to share a little bit of myself and my family.

For the past ten years I’ve been a homeschooling mom of three beautiful girls Natalia, Samantha, and Hannah. Teaching has always been a big part of my family’s life, whether at home or at church. My favorite part of teaching is seeing the fruit of our hard work. With God’s strength, we can do anything!

My husband Hiram and I have been married for seventeen years. Our family enjoys movie nights, boba, and all the pizza we can get!  Best of all, we love to worship Jesus. We love to use instruments such as the guitar, cajon, and the electric drums to worship our Creator.  The Bible says in Psalms 150:6, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.”

This year will be my first year teaching at FACET. I can’t wait to bring creativity, fun and learning to our classroom. My desire for this year is to come alongside each student and help them grow academically but more importantly to grow in the knowledge and fear of our God. “Train up a child in the way he should go: And when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6.

Natalie Gillespie

Email: natgill7@yahoo.com

Hi! I’m Natalie Gillespie, and I am a lover of Jesus! I enjoy painting and swimming and love being outdoors in nature, especially at the beach. Our family was abundantly blessed when God redirected my career path to the best calling of being a stay-at-home mom to two incredible teens, which led to homeschooling five years ago. My greatest passion is helping others care for their bodies through nutrition and health and helping children know their Kingdom identity in Christ.

I currently do not hold a degree, but I often tell others when asked that I am and will forever be in the College of the Kingdom. I am constantly gaining wisdom and knowledge from the Father to do His will wherever He leads me, which has been in the dental field, the oil and gas industry, and now the homeschooling community – raising up godly leaders for the growth of the Kingdom.

Kaylene Karras

I formerly had the privilege of leading Elementary Bible Devotions at FEAST homeschool co-op, and I have been blessed and excited to be doing that again here at FACET for the past year. Thank you for letting me share my favorite subject with your children!

My TV game show introduction: I’m a former homeschool Mom, of 19 years, to two beautiful college students and married to their awesome dad, my wonderful husband for almost 27 years. We volunteer for His Bridge Builders Christian downtown ministry and attend Curry Creek Church in Boerne. We’ve been active in the homeschool community as volunteers, active in the sports programs, and served as advisory board members. I co-facilitated Smoothing the Way and facilitated a support group for Struggling Learners. Recently, I was a co-facilitator for FACET’s Real Talk Support group.

Before children, my career was working with teens-at-risk and people suffering with severe high-risk chronic mental health conditions, providing counseling, case management, and advocacy services to integrate successfully into their community, manage their symptoms, and decrease psychiatric hospitalizations. I was also a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, helping those with various disabilities obtain support and resources that led to gainful employment.

Following God’s leading, Worldviews Classes of San Antonio continued to expand and now offers the full five years of worldviews curriculum, including Starting Points for 8th grade and Worldviews of the Western World for High School. While built on challenging college-prep academics, the primary goal of the program is to prepare students to know God’s truth and to share that truth with their culture wherever He calls them – whether it is on the college campus, in the workplace, in their government, on the mission field, or simply with a new neighbor over a cup of coffee. Mrs. Moellendorf remains blessed beyond measure by the privilege of being a part of the lives of her students and families. Standing firmly on God’s promise in Isaiah 55:11, she looks forward to guiding them to a place firmly in His truth from which they will never return!  You may also reach Mrs. M. at her Worldviews Classes of San Antonio website.

Hey y’all! I’m so pleased to be teaching at FACET! I enjoyed a rigorous classical education, and hold a BS in Liberal Arts, with concentrations in Biology and Psychology. For the fifteen years I have been homeschooling my four children, I have enjoyed teaching various co-op classes, such as PE, Math Olympiad, and Boys’ Book Club. My overarching goal for my children has always been continuity of quality education, with the infusion of the skills needed to achieve and exhibit mastery. In 2015, I blended my co-op class experience with my personal goal and began writing about study skills for others and teaching them to students in co-ops. This led to the recent formation of Your Study Solution, my consulting company. I look forward to igniting ownership of my co-op student’s own educations by imparting tools and techniques that bring success. I’m offering Middle School Study Skills, High School Study and Life Skills, and Following Narnia, an IEW Writing class for grades 7-9, for the 2022/2023 school year!

The words Tae “kick”, Kwon “punch” and Do “art” or “the way” come together to form what we call Taekwondo, “the art of kicking and punching”. The instructors at Torvik Martial Arts will teach you the way of this Korean Martial Art and will expose you to the secrets of getting your black belt.

Classes will include flexibility training, strength training, techniques, poomsae (form routine) and even sparring.

Further, we have monthly character qualities that the students will be expected to memorize in addition to the skills and routines they learn in class. Our goal is that your students go far beyond just learning skills (kicks and punches) but go on to develop self confidence, discipline, and character in which they can carry into all aspects of their life. We are ecstatic about this upcoming 2024-2025 school year and hope to see your students in our class!

Classes will be instructed by Master Derrick Torvik of Torvik Martial Arts.

Class fee is $300/semester for all students.  New students will also have a $50 supply fee to cover the cost of the uniform.

I’m Jennifer Vega, a Portrait & Wedding Photographer. My husband, Dom, and I have been married for 18 years; he’s my biggest supporter! I’m a homeschooling mom of two beautiful girls & a dog mom to our bulldog, Ruby. It’s been a privilege and a blessing to be able to homeschool our girls from the very start. I resigned from Corporate America to be home with our girls and started our homeschool journey 12 years ago. My love for photography began in high school where I took my first photography class with my husband who was then my high school sweetheart. Five years ago, he encouraged me to pursue my passion, and that’s when I officially began my own photography business. I’ve been blessed to be able to help provide for my family while doing something I absolutely love. I’m so excited to be able to share my love of photography with my students and impart the wisdom I have obtained over the years to them. I will strive to encourage them to see the beauty in all God’s creation, and guide them in honing their ability to capture it well.

Brian Warren

Mr. Warren has a Masters degree in Math Education and has taught all levels of Secondary mathematics from Pre-Algebra to Advanced Placement Calculus. He is state certified in mathematics (along with Art History, German, Speech, Health, and Economics). After having taught in the public schools for 29 years, however, he felt GOD leading him to use the window of time that he had to homeschool his own children. He has since pursued this calling these past 7 years while teaching at the FEAST Homeschool co-op and will continue with the new FACET co-op. Having worked closely with both teenagers and homeschoolers, he strives to create a classroom atmosphere that fosters the ability for students to safely ask questions and to receive help in ways they can understand. Mr.Warren desires that every student be able to achieve success in math in order to pursue their own future opportunities. For this reason, he teaches and builds the courses so as to mirror the expectations of the college entrance exams (SAT and ACT). During the process of struggle and triumph, he hopes all his students can build godly character and perseverance and to see GOD in all areas along the way.

What People Are Saying About The Team Here At FACET

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matt. 5:16 NKJV). I’ve known Mrs. Carol Schroeder since 2013 and thus I can attest to the fact that she exemplifies and exudes the meaning of this verse to all she comes in contact with. During high school as a homeschool student, I was enrolled in three of the science courses she taught at our local co-op group (Biology 1, Chemistry 1, and Human Anatomy). During those three years I came to know Mrs. Schroeder as a teacher who is kind, gracious, humble, compassionate, with the ability to master the material she is teaching and communicate it with students effectively. But most importantly, she is a teacher that demonstrates Christlikeness in her vocation and roots all her lessons in the infallible truths of Scripture. I am now a senior in college attending St. Mary’s University with a 4.00 GPA and I still remember her classes fondly as being engaging, inclusive, and filled with a passion to demonstrate the glory of God through the world He created!”

“What a blessing it is to home school in San Antonio, especially with the help from FACET teachers and leadership. The classes offered are second to none. Any subject or area of study you need or want, that class is offered by a wonderful teacher.  We’ve taken a mix of classes, from foundational classes like Worldviews, to fun elective classes like art. What a blessing Starting Points and Worldviews have been. My only sadness is that one day my girls will both graduate from the program, and these beautiful years of love and learning will be behind them. They are both different learners, and both have learned so much, and continue weekly to grow personally and in their knowledge of history and the world. Mrs. Moellendorf has been blessed by God with the wonderful ability to teach. She loves all her students and their parents, and it shows each and every day. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the class or thank Mrs. Moellendorf enough for all she does. FACET will make it easy to homeschool your children of any age, from elementary school through high school. I am so thankful for the FACET teachers and their commitment to homeschool students and their families.”
